Heavyweight Competitions

Join us in competing in some thrilling heavyweight events in partnership with the Royal Scottish Highland Games Association.

All competitors must pre-register before the day.

Highland Dance Competitions

Come join us and show off your dance moves!   The competitions follow the rules set by the Royal Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing.

All dancing competitors must pre-register before the day. 

(by the Tuesday before the Games day) before 2nd June 2025.

Application form and fee details coming soon.

​Dance competition fees include Games entry for competitors only.

Please note that dancing supporters will be required to purchase a ticket.  This covers the all-day entrance to the Games and access to view all events during the Games day.

Athletic Competitions

Get ready to join us in competing in some action-packed track and field events in collaboration with the Royal Scottish Highland Games Association!

All athletes wishing to participate in the races must register by the Sunday before the Games day.

Competing athletes must ensure they purchase an ‘Athletics Competitor’ Wristband’ upon arrival.  This covers the all-day entrance to the Games and all events entered.   Tickets can also be purchased in advance via the Ticket Page.

Hill Race

There is no requirement to pre-enter; completed forms should be handed into the Helensburgh AAC tent on the day, which will be located at the 90m start line.  Entry forms must be presented between 12:30 pm & 1:30 pm, with the race scheduled to start

at 2 pm.  Click here for the application form. 
 

All athletes must ensure they purchase an ‘Athletics Competitor’ Wristband.  This costs £12 and covers the all-day entrance to the Games, and all events entered. Tickets can also be purchased in advance via the Ticket Page.

It's important to note that this is an arduous event over rough terrain and with no marked path in some areas.  The race covers a distance of around 7.7 km, rising to 354 metres to the top of Tom na h-Airidh.  Entrants must ensure they are fit and fully prepared.  There are no water stations provided on the race route.  Hill Race competitors must be at least 18 years old on the race day.

Relay Race

Teams of 4, with each athlete running 100m in a relay race, with separate races for primary school-aged athletes and secondary school-aged athletes.  This event can be entered on the day.  Entry forms will be available at the Helensburgh AAC tent between 1:30 pm and 2:30 pm, which will be located at the 90m start line.  Relay races are scheduled to start at 3 pm.

Helensburgh and Lomond Highland Games will not be held responsible for any injuries incurred by any competitors.
